The Abbey School Cabin Project is regional finalist for share of £'000s from Tesco

Please vote at Tesco for The Abbey to receive an £8-12,000 share of the carrier bag levy

Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge. The Abbey’s Log Cabin Project has been chosen as one of the 3 projects in our region.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 26 September to 9 October on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards in our area. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop. Further details are available on the Bags of Help website . Please tell your friends, neighbours and family members who live in the area about this. They may be able to help by voting for The Abbey’s Log Cabin Project when they shop in Tesco.
