The Abbey retains the CWSNF replica FA Cup

CWSNF KS3 Football Tournament

The school was once again honoured to host the annual Children With Special Needs Foundation football tournament in which teams from local special schools compete for the Ian Wooldridge memorial replica of the FA Cup. Visiting teams came from Dove House, St Philips (2 teams), Philip Southcote, Samuel Cody and The Park schools while The Abbey entered 3 teams.

Abbey FC were absolutely delighted to retain the title 2:0 in the final against Dove House in which goalie Tom Schirmer spectacularly saved a penalty, according to one of the parent spectators who came to support the teams. Thanks go to Thandi Wooldridge who presented the trophy, students from Farnham College who acted as referees, friends from Aldershot Town Football Club who came to cheer all the teams on and of course, to Mrs Currie, Mr Packham and Mr Molloy for organising the tournament and training the teams. There is a full report in the Abbey Life Gallery.
