School closed Thursday 1 March and Friday 2 March 2018

Message from Mr Jackson

Dear Parents, Carers & Colleagues,

I have been keeping up to date with the weather forecast from the Met Office and there are now Amber Weather Warnings out for Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd March. Earlier on today these were Yellow. The forecast predicts snow on Thursday afternoon with freezing conditions followed by further snow, and then freezing rain on Friday.

Although there has been no snow in Farnham today, our transport providers have found the road conditions difficult and have expressed further concern for tomorrow and Friday. Pupils have experienced longer journeys and some staff have struggled to get in. I do not want to put staff or pupils at further risk tomorrow.

I have therefore taken the decision to close the school tomorrow and Friday. I have looked at all of the alternatives and have decided that for the safety of children and staff, this is the correct choice to make. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that by letting you know now, it gives you the time to make whatever arrangements are needed.
