School Camp Out with support from Aldershot Garrison
25 year 9 and 10 students stayed on after school and, with the support of a team from the Aldershot Garrison led by Major Arianne Kidd, built “BASHA” (British Army Standard Hotel Accommodation) shelters for an overnight camp. There were army rations to try but also a home-cooked meal; thanks to school staff volunteers. During the evening, which thankfully turned out dry and sunny, there was a ‘manhunt’ game as well as a light and noise demonstration laid on by the soldiers using their military vehicles. Members of the senior leadership team stayed for the sleepover on what proved to be a very cold night. The school ‘mess’ team returned to cook a nice, hot breakfast before the students were collected by their parents. Well done to everybody who took part and huge thanks to our friends from the Aldershot Garrison for another memorable event.
