Garden Party to Celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday

On Friday 13 May, students, staff and parent helpers came together to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Each Form planned and prepared a stall or activity in advance for everyone to enjoy on the day including:

  • Horse racing game

  • Malteser challenge

  • Sweet stall

  • “Pass the Queen”

  • Welly wanging and beat the goalie

  • Chopstick fun

  • Shape challenge

  • Pin the crown on the Queen

  • Human fruit machine

The new Mayor of Farnham, Councillor John Ward, came to open the event, meet students and staff and tour the school and grounds.

After enjoying the sideshows, the students had to clear away and set up the tables for a street party lunch.

Mrs Diane Burke, who led the organisation for the day said:

“I was really keen to do something to help the students celebrate the Queen’s birthday. We have all had a fantastic time in the sunshine and feel very honoured that the Mayor came along on what is his very first official engagement since taking up office last night.”
