Farnham Hedgehogs Sponsored Swim Trophy Returns to The Abbey

For the third year running our students raised more than any other local school in the annual sponsored swim organised by the Hedgehogs. This completes a hat trick for The Abbey - winners in 2015/2016/2017! Between them our swimmers and their friends and families raised over £1,000 for the school. The Hedgehogs have topped this up to £1,335, as the organisers, using gift aid.

Zara, Annabelle, Irisha, Tom, Oliver and Freddie who took part in the sponsored swim are pictured receiving the cheque with our music teacher Mrs Shead-Jones, who organised the Abbey group. Unfortunately, Carl, who also swam, was not available to take part in the assembly. Chloe Phillips, an ex-student who now attends Guildford College, also swam to raise money for The Abbey as she did whilst a student here.

Whilst they were here, The Hedgehogs also gave the students an otter model to decorate as part of a project to celebrate the return of otters to the River Wey. Reece, Alex, Ethan and Louis helped Mr Jackson at the presentation. Hopefully we will be able to publish photos of the completed otter in due course once it has been installed as part of the walking trail.
