Following weeks of hard work and rehearsals, nearly 30 of our students finally got to take to the Weydon School stage last Wednesday and perform in the talent show involving acts from other schools in the Fearnhamme schools confederation, in front of a packed audience of family members.
The Abbey act – “Together We Roar” – took its name from a combination of the school mission statement “together we can…” and the title of the Katy Perry song they performed. The panel of judges awarded them the rising star award of joint runners up for what Mr Jackson described as
“A brilliant performance by all. The crowd loved it.”
A special mention was made by the judges for Harry's performance on the drums. The evening was compered by our students Jack and Alice alongside the head boy and girl of Weydon School.
Huge thanks to Miss Phillips who led on this, Mr McCarthy and Mrs Horton, who also helped the students prepare, Mr Molloy who recorded a fantastic video and to the other staff and parents who attended on the night.
